Overview

Step aboard a luxury yacht in Naples and spend a full day discovering Capri the way it was meant to be seen: from the sea. This Luxury Yacht Escape to Capri Island combines a comfortable private crossing, a complete loop around the island with grottoes and Faraglioni, swim stops in clear water, and free time on land to explore Capri at your own pace.

Instead of crowded ferries and fixed schedules, you have your own elegant yacht with powerful engines, spacious decks and plenty of amenities on board. Together with your skipper, you’ll decide how to balance swimming, sightseeing from the water, and time ashore – for a day that feels like pure Capri Dolce Vita.

What to Expect on Your Luxury Capri Yacht Escape

Departure from Naples

Your experience starts at the marina in Naples, where you meet your skipper and step onto your luxury yacht – modern, elegant, with fast engines and plenty of comfort on board. After a brief introduction, we leave the harbor and head across the Bay of Naples.

As the city fades behind, you’ll have open views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius while you relax on deck with a drink.

Approaching Capri: First Views from the Sea

After roughly an hour of comfortable navigation, Capri begins to appear on the horizon. As we get closer, you’ll see cliffs, villas clinging to the rocks, and the island’s famous silhouette rising from the water.

Here is where travelling by private yacht makes a huge difference: we start exploring the coastline immediately, choosing the best direction to circle the island based on wind and sea on the day.

👉🏼 Want to prioritize the Blue Grotto or the Faraglioni? Let your skipper know at the start – timing is flexible.

Blue Grotto Area (Optional Stop)

If sea conditions allow and you want to visit the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), your skipper will plan to approach this area early enough to avoid the longest queues. Arriving in the morning usually means shorter waiting times compared with mid‑day.

As with all Capri boat tours, entry to the Blue Grotto is managed by local rowboats and requires a separate ticket, paid directly on site. You can choose to:

  • Go inside with the small rowboats for the full “blue light” experience, or

  • Stay on board and enjoy the coastline from outside if you prefer to keep cruising.

Southbound Itinerary – Cliffs, Caves and Faraglioni

After the Blue Grotto, if you choose to head south, the real character of Capri begins to unfold. This stretch of coastline shows just how varied and dramatic the island really is.

Marina Grande from the Sea

The first landmark is Marina Grande, Capri’s main harbor. Seen from the water, it feels completely different than arriving on a crowded pier. From here you round the headland and start sliding along the eastern coastline, staying close to the cliffs. The island slowly reveals its textures, colors and hidden corners.

The “Polyp Cave” – A Skipper’s Secret

Soon you reach a cave many local skippers casually call the “Polyp Cave.” It is not marked on maps and you won’t find it highlighted in brochures. Inside, the rock has been sculpted by wind and sea into shapes that look like clusters of bubbles or the suction cups of an octopus.

White Grotto and the Madonna in the Rock

Next comes the White Grotto, tall and majestic, almost cathedral‑like. High inside, a natural rock formation clearly recalls the silhouette of the Madonna in prayer. From your boat you have time to look for the figure, watch the light play on the limestone and take photos without feeling rushed.

Coves and Swim Stops Before the Natural Arch

Between the White Grotto and the Natural Arch, the coastline breaks into small inlets and quiet coves that invite you to stop. You can anchor where the water looks irresistible, jump in for a swim and snorkel peacefully along the rocks. These bays feel so intimate and almost wild.

The Natural Arch from the Sea

Continuing south, you reach a point where the Natural Arch appears high above you, suspended between sky and sea. Seen from land it is impressive; seen from the water it feels almost surreal. From below, you truly understand its scale and elegance.

The Faraglioni – Capri’s Iconic Giants

Then come the Faraglioni. These three towering rock stacks rise from the sea like silent guardians of the island and are the emotional heart of most Capri boat tours. Skipper can slow down, circle them and, if sea conditions allow, pass through the central arch. Gliding under that stone arch with the light filtering through is often the single moment guests remember most.

Marina Piccola – Swim Stop and Possible Lunch

After the Faraglioni you arrive near Marina Piccola, one of Capri’s most scenic bays. Here you find some of the island’s best restaurants with views over the sea and the Faraglioni, and a few small beaches that are perfect if you are traveling with children who want to play while adults enjoy a relaxed lunch. You can anchor offshore and use tender service to go ashore, or simply stay on board and enjoy one of the most photogenic swim spots of the day.

Snorkeling Paradise – Punta di Mulo to Punta Vetruso

Between Punta di Mulo and Punta Vetruso lies a stretch of coast that snorkelers love. Just a few strokes from the boat bring you to two tiny white pebble beaches accessible only from the sea. Each can host around ten people at most, which makes them feel incredibly exclusive. Reaching them while snorkeling adds a small sense of adventure

Grotta Verde and Its Emerald Light

Further along you reach the Green Grotto, famous for the intense emerald reflections that light up the water inside.

Punta Carena Lighthouse and Romantic Coves

As you round the southwestern tip of the island, the Punta Carena Lighthouse appears, historic and striking against the sea. Nearby lies Cala del Limmo, one of the most intimate and underrated corners of Capri. It is rarely crowded and has an almost secret atmosphere; it feels like a private paradise.

Cala del Rio and Closing the Loop

After Cala del Limmo you reach Cala del Rio, known for its deep blue water and rocky ledges perfect for safe cliff jumps. Opposite the cove there is a wide grotto that adds even more character to the landscape. From here, continuing along the coastline completes the circle and brings you back toward the Blue Grotto area, where your island loop began, before starting the navigation back to Naples

Return to Naples

After your time circling Capri, swimming in hidden coves and, if you wish, exploring the island on land, we begin the cruise back toward Naples. The late‑afternoon light over the Faraglioni and the Bay of Naples makes this final stretch especially scenic, whether you choose one last quick swim or simply relax on deck with a drink in hand.

You’ll arrive in Naples with the feeling of having experienced Capri from every angle – grottoes, cliffs, Faraglioni and village life – all in a single, effortless day at sea, without queues, ferries or fixed group schedules. It’s Capri at its best, from the moment you leave the harbor to the moment you return.
